Unilever showcases Personal Care brands at first ever full portfolio event in Dublin
6th August 2015, Last night, Unilever celebrated its full portfolio of Personal Care beauty and grooming brands at The Morrison Hotel as part of The Unilever Personal Care Summer Festival. A powerhouse in great Personal Care brands, Unilever presented its products and expertise throughout the evening, featuring ranges with products by: Dove, Dove Men+Care, Vaseline, Simple, TRESemmé, Toni & Guy, Timotei, VO5, Sure, Impulse, Radox, St. Ives, Lynx, and Brylcreem.

Guests were invited to experience the world of Unilever Personal Care, which included panel discussions on all things beauty and grooming. Mike Sheridan of Entertainment.ie spoke to ‘‘The Modern Male’’ panel comprised of UFC world champion trainer, John Kavanagh, and three-time Heineken cup winner, Isa Nacewa. They covered a range of diverse topics, from dressing room tales and personal care routines to future trend predictions. Jennie McGinn of OPSH then spoke to model, Holly Carpenter, vlogger, Melanie Murphy, and Beauty Bootcamp’s Liz Dwyer on ‘’The Changing Face of Beauty,’’ discussing everything from shifts in the perception of beauty to latest innovations in the beauty industry.

Sally-Ana Leahy from Causeway, Co. Kerry, was announced winner of the style stakes at Ladies Day in association with Keanes Jewellers in Killarney on Saturday 22nd August, 2015. The Ladies Day Winner caught the eye of the judges with her elegant racing style. Sally-Ann wore a two-piece from Designer Marion Murphy Cooney, the look was completed with a matching hat from Annburys in Tralee and a silver bag and silver shoes from Faith. Sally-Ann won a diamond ring worth €3,000 generously sponsored by Keanes Jewellers.

Judges Lisa Fitzpatrick Stylist and Presenter, and Tourism Development Officer with Kerry County Council Joan McCarthy, picked 10 finalists from the thousands of women who attended Ladies Day in Killarney.

The two runners up who each won a €500 voucher for Keane’s Jewellers were Gretta Peters from Co. Tipperary, wearing a skirt from Vanilla Boutique in Fermoy and peplum jacket from iclothing along with a headpiece from Elizabeth Christina Design, and Lisa-Marie Maguire from Co. Down, wearing a dress from Chi Chi London and a bespoke head piece from Dress House.

TV3 unveiled programming plans for Autumn 2015/2016 which will strengthen its position as Ireland’s most successful commercial broadcaster. With just two weeks to go until the launch of RWC 2015, The Aviva Stadium was an apt location for the station whose panel of rugby experts for the major sporting event include Peter Stringer, Keith Wood, former Leinster and Ireland flanker Shane Jennings and the newly unveiled Malcolm O’Kelly.

Following a celebratory nod to its critically acclaimed soap Red Rock which returns to screens, TV3’s Director of Content, Lynda McQuaid, outlined the group’s main area of concentration for Autumn 2015 and beyond.  

Home-production and live content continue to be big winners for TV3. Over 45 hours of TV3’s weekly schedule now broadcasts live from Ballymount following the launch of Saturday AM and Sunday AM, presented by Anna Daly, Simon Delaney and Ivan Yates. This amounts to more than 2700 hours across the year, while over 55% of TV3’s schedule will now be home-produced. The move into weekend is a measure of the confidence in the Ireland AM brand that has been built up over sixteen years. Other strong TV3 brands that continue to deliver for the group are: Midday, Xposé, The Seven O’Clock Show, Tonight With Vincent Browne and TV3 News.    

Popular acquisitions like X Factor, Celebrity Big Brother, Downton Abbey, Britain’s Got Talent and Broadchurch are key and now all exclusive to the channel, making TV3 the home of entertainment. Channel 4’s ground-breaking series The Undateables will also debut on TV3 this autumn.

Underpinning TV3’s strong daytime and primetime schedule will be a concentrated focus on home-produced, engaging and relevant programmes and documentaries. Shows like the brand new heart-warming Ireland’s Animal Rescue, Doctor In The House, Adoption Stories, Geriatric Mums, Thelma’s Communion Girls, Ireland’s Problem Pets, Conor Pope’s Dodgy Dealers, A Rough Guide to the Future, presented by Jonathan McCrea, a new documentary strand called Disclosure, The Joy, Donal MacIntyre Assassins: Paid to Kill and lots more. Mondays will be hard hitting crime and current affairs while Tuesday nights will be emotional thought provoking television. Drama will be order of the day on Wednesdays while TV3 will own Food and Lifestyle on Thursday nights with the return of the hit series The Restaurant and The Great Irish Bake Off, plus the brand new Great Irish Menu.

New faces include Brian Ormond who will host the new international format Wishlist, which sees couples playing to win the prizes of their dreams visualised in studio on a large LED floor. The show will air in the New Year and promises to be compelling viewing. Joining The Great Irish Bake Off team will be Irish food writer Lilly Higgins. Pamela Flood will present a brand new TV3 series called Geriatric Mums and former Liverpool legend Graeme Souness will join TV3’s expert Champions League analysis team.

THE MORRISON HOTEL HOSTS A FUNDRAISING FESTIVE CHRISTMAS TEA!

Yes folks, it is that time of year again!

On Sunday November 22nd, the Morrison Hotel on Dublin’s Ormond Quay will devote the day to a fundraising Festive Afternoon Tea in aid of the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (ISPCC).

Due to the success of The Morrison’s unique Gentlemen’s Afternoon Tea, this year the event will be even bigger, with a choice of a traditional Afternoon Tea, or the more macho version!  Tickets are priced €35 per person, including a cocktail on arrival with tables of two, four or more available for booking. The full ticket price is donated to the ISPCC with The Morrison covering all the costs on the day to help raise as much as possible!

Guests can look forward to an afternoon of treats, entertainment and special guests, and are invited to bring new toys and children’s gift to be donated to the ISPCC. There will also be a raffle with lots of exciting prizes to be won.

“This is our second year to host a Festive Afternoon Tea for the ISPCC, and it has certainly grown!” said Patrick Joyce, General Manager, The Morrison. “Last year we raised nearly €4,000 and I’m confident that we’ll beat that total this November.”

And there’s was more, each attendee went home with an amazing goodie bag containing benefit cosmetics, gift cards supplements, lidl vouchers plus much more surprises.  There was also a delicious lunch, tea and coffee breaks included plus a sparkling Frizzante reception.

Guests enjoyed Prosecco and mulled wine on arrival and entertainment by the Bugle Babes and Santa, before sampling a selection of delicious products from the popular Christmas Deluxe range.

This Christmas Lidl customers can look forward to an extensive range of delicious Deluxe products fit for every occasion over the festive period. This year the impressive ChristmasDeluxe range, available exclusively at Lidl, will also feature a selection of tasty alternative meats like ostrich, goose and kangaroo, as well as firm favourites including fresh Irish turkeys*, mouth-watering Deluxe desserts and fine wines. 

The Deluxe Christmas range of food will be available exclusively from Lidl stores nationwide from 02.11.15

The plot goes like this - Katelin Ballantine (Michelle Doherty) is a movie producer who needs cash for her new project. Instead she gets involved with the criminal underworld and is forced to take on dangerous hits for a gangland boss. Things quickly get messy. Its loads of fun, with a great performance by Doherty and some enjoyable gunplay.
